Hello Colleagues ! This time also the running staff is fixed at a higher scale overriding the recommendations by 6th Pay Commission. The fixation equation goes by (pay X 2.12) for running staff whereas it is (X 1.86) for others. This anomaly is happening during every wage revision but is blissfully condoned by the administration. The argument that there will be incremental benefits only if the pay for running staff is calculated in this manner is right. But it gives way to 15% additional pay and 65% more DA for running staff over and above others, apart from the usual allowances like mileage, BRA, OSDA, etc;. The anomaly comes in because the thirty percent enhancement is done without reflecting in the pay bill; but added virtually for all calculations. This gives an impression that the running staff has lesser pay. The solution is therefore to add the thirty percent actually in their pay and then calculate for all allowances. In fact all the employees on open line are subjected to risks and have individual onus of responsibilities alike. But only the running staff are compensated to some extent on this behalf. It should be demanded for an equal placement of pay for non running staff also in open line unlike the administrative staff who enjoys all privileges like 9 to 5 office, 5 day week, holidays, leave, timely promotions whereas open line staff are liable to work for 24 hours, 7 days without even weekly off and deprived of social commitments.
The matter should be taken before the appropriate forumand discussed and submitted to authorities..

Dear sir, I strongly support your views regarding the unjustiable increase given to running staff in pay fixation. The authorities never considrered the difference of working conditions prevailed in the past and now.The risk is reduced.safety precautions enhanced and routine trainings are being given. But I cannot agree to your point where mentioning ministerial staff. I put up 13year service as Sr.clerk and still I do not forsee any promotion chance in future.I work in open line and devote more than 48 Hrs in a week.Though I got 6000/- increase in salary in the pay new pay commission,I put up in pay band1 and all my 18 years service also not been considered.
