The Typist Category of Railways are the most deprived category among all the categories of Railways. Ill fate it would be that in the 4th CPC typist in scale Rs. 2000-3200/- was awarded with the scale of Rs. 6500-10500/- whereas in many other categories incumbents of above scale were placed in Rs. 7450-11500/- awarding up-gradation in the 5th CPC. Like-wise, in the 6th CPC in many other categories incumbents of Rs. 6500-10500/- has been merged with the scale of Rs. 7450-11500/- and have been awarded with Grade Pay of Rs. 4600/-, 4800/- & also 5400/- (in some cases who perhaps does the work of responsibility most perfectly & sincerely and Railways' profit & goodwill depends upon them), whereas the unlucky typists in scale Rs. 6500-10500/ (5th CPC) have been merged with the scales of Rs. 5000-8000/- & 5500-9000/- (both 5th CPC scales) and awarded with Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/-. Thus the responsibility, prestige, designation of the Superintendent of Typists are of no use. Please let the Government clarify why this behaviour is being done with the Typists Cadre although it is known that this Cadre is a dead Cadre but the Government thinks that incumbents are also dead.
With regards, thanks & hope,
Puskar Banerjee, Superintendent of Typists, CLW Accounts, Chittaranjan.
